Claudeline Pullen Lewis, of Enfield, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016.

She was the daughter of the late Frances Parker and James “Sam” Henry Lewis. Claudeline was preceded in death by her brother, J. W. Lewis, and her sister, Jessie Belle Lewis.

She was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church. Claudeline graduated from Aurelian Springs High School and later graduated from UNC Greensboro Women’s College. She also received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She then moved to Chapel Hill, NC in 1962 where she worked for UNC at Chapel Hill until her retirement.

Claudeline is survived by her nephew, James Grier Lewis and his wife, Carol, of Beaufort, NC; her grandnephew, Josh Parker Lewis and his wife, Laurel, of Chapel Hill, NC; and her great-grandniece, Jordan Britt Lewis.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Susan Joyce officiating.

A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
